      Hi Shannon,

This is a great question- it is true that engineering is a very male dominated environment but sometimes this can stand in your favour. If you don’t less this phase you and recognise you can be just as good (if not better!) an engineer as the boys you will really stand out at interviews.

Companies really want to have diverse work forces because it is proven that companies with equal numbers of men and women are more successful.

So while it can be a bit daunting and intimidating to go into a male dominated career the only way it’ll change is for girls to realise they can do engineering as well. I was having a chat with the prime minister about this very topic would you believe on Monday! Check out the picture on my profile…

If you’d like to know anything more on this topic please ask, I am very passionate about encouraging more girls into engineering!

      Hi shannon 🙂

No actually it wasn’t, now there are loads of societies and companies that support women engineers so now it’s making things a lot easier 🙂 especially one day if you would like to have children 😀

There are still more men than women but now it’s great because more women are applying and as Danielle is saying it makes everything work better together 🙂
