      Math, History, Japanese, English, Physics, Biology

      Math is critically important for every scientist. Universities might not ask you for math during your undergraduate entrance application to biology, but that is only because if they did, no-one would make it onto the course. This is unfair because once you start your career, it will become clear to you how important math is.

      I would have liked to do chemistry, but I am not sure what I could have dropped.

      English is important because you need to express your findings in a readable and interesting way to other scientists. It is worthwhile doing every science because nowadays you can switch between them over the course of your career, but it is not absolutely necessary.

      I did history because I was interested in it, and Japanese because I want to work there one day.
