Like any job, it can be challenging to get through some of the tough interviews and recruitment processes, but there are always lots of engineering jobs available because they are needed for so many things. Once you have some experience behind you it becomes a lot easier which is why I would recommend to anybody interested in studying engineering at university to do a paid work experience year.

From a BBC article from 2012 I found this statistic:

      http://www.bbc.com/news/education-19760351

The UK needs to increase by as much as 50% the number of science, technology, engineering and maths (Stem) graduates it is creating, a report says.

So I would say if you get a good engineering degree and show you have the right skills during your interviews and possibly have some industrial experience as well it is not that difficult to find an engineering job. In the UK engineers really are in demand.

I would also agree it depends on yourself and the company. Companies look for certain people with certain experience so it depends but as Danielle said there are loads of jobs out there. You just need to find the job that you are most passionate about and suits you best 🙂
