• Question: How did you find your Job? What was the criteria of being accepted?

      I found my job by searching on google to be honest! I knew I wanted to go onto a graduate scheme and I knew I wanted to work in Supply Chain so I typed this in and Coca Cola Enterprises came up!

      The criteria of being accepted was… a 2:1 or higher in a university degree (maths or manufacturing based) as a minimum. Then I went through a whole long process of online tests, telephone interviews and an assessment centre to finally get onto the graduate scheme.

      They are looking for people with technical knowledge but also for people who have good team work and communication skills as well.

      I found my job on a website called linkedIn which is a professional social media website ( not like facebook 🙂 )for people to connect with each other from different companies!

      I recommend joining if you are going to university soon and you may have heard about it. My criteria was to have a certain grade which was a 2.1 in my degree and some experience with engineering and science. At my interview they were mostly looking at how I could fit the job so I don’t think there was anything in particular but some of the things that my research requires are to be:

      1. Self-motivated
      2. Independent
      3. Determined
      4. Positive thinking when things go wrong
      5. Creative with ideas 🙂

      If you are interested in a job at Heineken (in the future as you have to be over 18 to work with alcohol), you can look on the Heineken careers web site. This shows all of the different roles available and the requirements for each role. There is also a graduate scheme which requires at least a 2:1 in an engineering or scientific discipline as well as a list of competencies which you need to match the company. This will typically be things like; able to work in a team, confident, hard working, passionate, good communicator etc. You then go through an assessment process to get picked which will typically consist of an online test, a phone interview, and then a face to face interview and assessment centre with a few business games to give you an opportunity to shine amongst the other candidates. When you go to university there will be lots of opportunities to practice these assessments so you don’t need to worry about them for now 🙂
