I have worked abroad for a short time when I was doing a placement year as part of my university degree. I went to Bangalore, India to train a contractor company. I taught them how to make a particular toothpaste product. On my placement year I worked for a massive company called GlaxoSmithKline who made medicines but also healthcare products like toothpaste.

I am hoping I will get to travel with Coca Cola Enterprises… maybe when I have worked here a bit longer! A lot of my engineering friends travel all over including places like Singapore and America. It just depends what sector of the engineering industry you go into.

I have never worked abroad but I would love to in the future. Canada are doing similar work to me so I would love to work there at some point!

Yes, I have done lots of work abroad. When I did my placement year I spent a couple of months in Italy working on steel forges and then I went to Switzerland working for a project consulting company in the oil and gas industry. I’ve been working for Heineken for four years and they are an international company with sites all over the world. I’ve spent a lot of time at the Heineken headquarters in Amsterdam and I’ve also travelled to conferences for the job in France, Vietnam and I’m hoping to work in Prague in August.

Alas no, the nearest I get is dealing with customers in Australia, New Zealand and Ukraine.

I would however love to work abroad especially in Canada!
